And the best news is I got the okay to take my Topamax on the morning of surgery as long as I promise to take it with as little water as possible, whew...lord knows I don't need a migraine on top of surgery. I also found out I'll be sent home in a knee immobilizer and that they will send me home with crutches so I won't have to hobble around; at my last doctor appointment they said they don't always send you home with crutches which didn't sound very appealing.
Good luck with your surgery! What is the recovery going to be like? I will pray for wisdom for the doctors and a speedy recovery. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the recovery but I keep having visions of the boys diving over the back of the couch onto my knee... or propping my leg up on the ottoman and them using my leg as a monkey bar like they do now...
ReplyDeleteI know I will need 6-8 weeks of physical therapy but I'm not sure how long I'll be in the immobilizer or on the crutches. It will depend on if they need to cut the tendon on the side of my knee to make my patella (knee cap) sit where it's supposed to, apparently mine likes to float, they won't know if they're doing that until they are in my knee looking around and I'm told if they do have to do that recovery will be VERY excruciating and quite a bit longer...oh joy...
