A Date with George!

We've seen Sesame Street Live twice now (different shows) and I got an advertisement that Curious George now has a Live show so I decided as one of the boys' Christmas gifts we'd go see George. It was a HUGE hit with the boys. We had awesome seats and the show was colorful, musical and had a story line both boys could follow, so all in all it was a wonderful night out :) On the way out after the show the venue staff were passing out coupons for the next Sesame Street Live show in March 2010, we will go to that show as well, it's about 3 weeks before Kaleb's birthday and will be such a nice treat for them again.
This is Zachary standing right in front of our seats, told you they were good, even better than sitting on the floor which is not stacked seating and is difficult for the kids to see over adults heads, those seats on the floor are $26 before all the fees!!! Our seats were $11 :)

I finally talked Kaleb into standing next to Zachary for a picture, I had to bribe him with a drink of my coke.

Some random shots from the show, Zachary insisted I take some pictures of George.

George is actually balancing on that ball and walked across stage on it, it really was quite impressive!

We've had an unusual November, weather-wise. It's been in the 70's the whole month until just the other day so we've gone to the zoo several times, we fed the giraffes twice last week (last post) and on Friday we went and rode the carousal, it's the first time Zachary has been on one and didn't freak out :)
Zachary on his Zebra and Kaleb on a ???, it kina looks like a hippo?

If you've never been to the OKC Zoo, they have an awesome playground. This is one of the 3 very large play structures in the bigger kids area, this is the one the boys like to play on the best. You can barely see Zachary's head over the wall by the rattle snake.

If you look at the last picture of the play structure, behind Zachary is a tower, if you look at the right front corner of the tower and follow that beam down, there is a corner (which would be the far left corner of the top of the structure) and through the corner this is what I saw...

and the blue sucker does dye a little mouth blue :)

A couple videos

Yes, we've already taken our Christmas pictures. This is the boys saying HoHoHo, Kaleb was saying Who Who Who until Zachary corrected him.

We went to the zoo again on Friday since the weather has been so nice and there were 2 giraffes near the fence again, 1 stayed around and let the boys feed him. Kaleb got closer to the giraffe this time but wouldn't actually feed the giraffe. Zachary just loved feeding him and called him his friend. Zachary wants to go back every day.

Feeding the Giraffe and overheard conversations

The boys and I went to the OKC zoo yesterday, it was in the 70's, sunny and the most gentle breeze, it was wonderful. We walked through an area with huge leaves on the ground to see the Okapi and Zachary picked up 2 leaves and wanted to put them on his dresser at home so he carried them as we went to the giraffes. When we got to the giraffes one was right at the fence line eating grass, he looked up and saw Zachary holding the leaves and he tried to steal the leaves! Zachary would have none of that even though there were literally hundreds more just like it about 200 yards away. Zachary started feeding the giraffe leaves from the ground near by which were only about 1/3 of the size of the huge ones we got earlier. I didn't get any pictures because I decided not to bring my camera since we go to the zoo so often and there really aren't any photo ops. From now on the camera comes every.single.time! We're going back on Friday and hopefully the giraffes are as friendly so I can get some pictures.

Last night Zachary and Jerry were talking about Alabama, I have no idea why but Jerry mentioned that he went to Alabama when he was in the army to which Zachary said "You got to be a soldier man?" and Jerry said yes and Zachary asked "A real army soldier man?" and Jerry said yes, to which Zachary said "I want to be an army soldier like you." and Jerry said he needed to aim a bit higher to which Zachary said "Daddy can you touch the sky?", Jerry said no and Zachary said "Daddy, you didn't even try. I bet if you stand on your tippy toes you can touch the sky, just try daddy."

Kaleb and I went to Target yesterday because he wanted to share a pretzel from the cafe, I realized when we got there that Kaleb pronounces Target "Toy-Get" which is hilarious and quite accurate when you think about it.

The zoo has a background for nearly any costume you can think of, not all of which we stopped at for pictures. It was a great time for the boys.

Happy November!!!

Halloween was fun. On Thursday we went to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks (near Tulsa), it was fun but not organized enough for me to have fun. With the 1 1/2 hour drive I think we'll just go to the aquarium for a day and enjoy the time rather than go for the Halloween thing (which is too expensive for only an hour). Before we went to the Aquarium we had dinner with Jerry's co worker, Doug, and his wife. They have 2 boys about the same age difference as our boys, but their boys are 22 and 25 - I think they enjoyed having the boys there and remembering some stuff their boys got into at that age.
On Friday we went to the Oklahoma City Zoo Haunt, we've gone for 3 years now and it's always good. This year was insanely crowded, we got there early and didn't have any problems but anyone who got there after it opened was stuck in a very long line!
On Saturday we went to some houses for some bona fide trick or treating. After about 5 houses the boys would actually say "Trick or Treat" without prompting, then at every house Kaleb would turn and say "I like that guy" (the one who gave candy!) It was funny. We then went to a church doing Trunk or Treat and the boys liked that, less walking, more candy! Everyone there loved Kaleb's "tee o teet", it really was cute. The boys were mesmerized by some 14 or so year old girls (3 of them) wearing what was basically bikini's and thigh highs and heels, I told Jerry you shouldn't wonder what kind of "trick" they are talking about when they say "trick or treat", I can't believe their parents let them out like that (and their parents did, we were at their house when they left and their dad gave them a hug and told them to have a good time :-O), there are enough slutty costumes out there they could have at least covered up...ok, I'll get off my soap box now but sheesh! *shakes head*
I'll post pics of the boys in their costumes when I get some energy and upload them ;)

Kaleb's new thang...
He crosses his arms, has a pouty face and will say "I not vewy ha-pee." It's so stinking cute! He'll do this out of the blue like if we take longer in a store than he thinks we should or I say he can't have candy for breakfast.

One day Kaleb was driving me nuts so I acted like I was pulling my hair out and said "You're driving me nuts" in a deep voice, so now all I have to do is put my hands on my head and Kaleb will say "I'm drivin you nuts." in a deep voice...too hilarious!!!
